Grammy-winning British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer James Blake has officially released his version of Frank Ocean’s ‘Godspeed’ with an accompanying music video.
James Blake, who produced, arranged, and performed the original version featured on Frank Ocean’s 2016 album ‘Blonde’, initially performed the cover as a snippet on his Instagram Live. After that, his version achieved organic success and sparked a flurry of activity on TikTok. Almost immediately, it inspired nearly 500,000 videos and amassed a total of more than 5.2 million views on the platform.
‘This song has always been special to me, but I didn’t expect the response it received. Love to everyone who wanted the full recording to exist’, says Blake of the song that inspired his new release.
