JAMIIE and Ape Drums reunite for their new single ‘4ME’, now available via Crosstown Rebels. Marking their debut on Damian Lazarus’ label, the track follows their 2025 collaboration ‘111’.
Created through long-distance sessions between Berlin and Miami, ‘4ME’ reflects the pair’s spontaneous workflow and shared creative direction. The production layers resonant synth textures, vocal phrases, and melodic chords over rolling percussion, building a steady, slow-burning progression.
“The track came together in a very intuitive way,” says JAMIIE. “Ape Drums and I have a strong creative flow, even long-distance. Working with him always feels easy – our ideas cross-fertilise naturally, allowing the track to develop intuitively rather than through rigid structure.” Ape Drums adds, “We wanted to follow up ‘111’ with something that had the same energy, but in a slightly different direction. Our goal was to widen the spectrum of where this song can be played, and I think we achieved that with ‘4ME’. Super excited for the release, and we have an amazing remix to go along with it.”
On remix duties, Italian DJ and producer Whitesquare delivers a rework that introduces jittering percussion, organ stabs, and a tighter club-focused pulse, reshaping the original into a late-night cut while retaining its core elements.
