Jean Claude Ades has built a career defined by long-form musical storytelling and a deep-rooted commitment to the dancefloor. With more than two decades of experience as a DJ and producer, his work reflects a broad musical background shaped by progressive structures, tribal rhythms, and an emphasis on emotional continuity rather than immediate impact.

A constant presence in Ibiza and Mykonos, Ades has become closely associated with both destinations through his extended residencies and curated parties. After establishing Ibiza as his home base in 2012, he launched the B!CRAZY party, a project that helped cement his position within the island’s club culture. Today, he remains a key resident of the Sunday gathering at Scorpios Mykonos, where his sets prioritize evolving moods built on deep basslines, crisp percussion, and genre-fluid arrangements.
Alongside his work behind the decks, Ades continues to shape his artistic vision through studio output and label activity. His latest single, ‘On My Mind,’ arrives as a reflection of this approach, translating his focus on atmosphere and emotional depth into a dancefloor-ready release.
In this conversation, Jean Claude Ades opens up about the track, the direction of Scorpios Music, and his perspective on the current state of electronic music.
EG: Hi, Jean Claude! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been doing?
Jean Claude Ades: Thanks for having me! I’ve been great — spending way too many hours in the studio, but in a good way. I’m in one of those rare “creative overload” phases where ideas are flying around everywhere, so I’m just riding the wave and enjoying the chaos.
EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your brand new single, ‘On My Mind’. How are you feeling about this one? What has the initial reception been like so far?
Jean Claude Ades: Thank you! I feel very connected to this track. ‘On My Mind’ came together during last summer in a moment of strong emotional clarity, so releasing it feels a bit like opening a window and letting people look in. The feedback so far has been beautiful, DJs have been supporting it, and listeners are telling me it hits them on an emotional level. That’s the best kind of reception an artist can hope for.
EG: So, what can listeners expect to find on this one? What was it like recording ‘On My Mind’?
Jean Claude Ades: ‘On My Mind’ is a blend of deep, melodic textures with a strong atmospheric pull. There’s a warm, hypnotic groove, but the heart of the track is emotional. Recording it was surprisingly effortless; everything flowed naturally around it. Sometimes tracks take weeks of shaping, but this one told me what it wanted to be from the beginning.

EG: Where is the label at the moment? What does 2026 look like for Scorpios Music?
Jean Claude Ades: The label is in a good place, growing steadily but intentionally. We’re attracting artists whose sound aligns with our philosophy, and we’re putting a lot of energy into high-quality releases and long-term artistic development. 2026 will be about expansion: more music, more collaborations, and more events that bridge the cultural side of electronic music. We’ve also just launched our new sub-label, Inner Gardens, with our very first album release from SYRCLES, a downtempo-ambient live act with world music influences. I’m incredibly excited about this project. It feels like the beginning of something special.
EG: By the way, speaking of Scorpios, will you be back for your summer residency this time around? Can you anticipate any details on that front?
Jean Claude Ades: Yes, the plan is to return for the summer. I can’t reveal everything yet, but expect a refined musical direction — deeper, warmer, more mature. Every season at Scorpios is its own chapter, and this one will be about creating even more intimate, emotionally connected moments.

EG: Stepping outside of the studio, what’s your take on the current state of the scene? What would you like to see more and less of?
Jean Claude Ades: The scene is evolving fast. There’s incredible talent and more diversity in sound than ever. What I’d love to see more of is authenticity — artists who take risks instead of chasing trends. And less of the algorithm-driven approach to music. When everything becomes content, the art loses its breath. Music needs space to live.
EG: Given your expertise, what are some of the biggest challenges artists will face in the near future? Is there any piece of advice you have for your colleagues in that sense?
Jean Claude Ades: One big challenge is staying true to your artistic identity in a world that expects constant output. The pressure to always release, always post, always be visible can dilute creativity. My advice is to protect your artistic core. Take time to explore, make mistakes, and let your sound evolve naturally. The industry may move fast, but real artistry doesn’t.

EG: What’s next for Jean Claude Ades? What milestones are you looking forward to now? Where can your fans catch you next?
Jean Claude Ades: Right now, I’m entering a phase where I want to challenge myself creatively. I’m working on music that feels more daring, sonically and emotionally, and I’m letting intuition guide me more than formulas. Some of the upcoming material steps outside my usual palette, which is exciting because it feels like a genuine evolution rather than just another release. You’ll see me across Europe and the Middle East again, but with a refreshed approach to how I build my sets. I want people to leave feeling something real, something memorable. That’s the next chapter for me: depth, authenticity, and a new layer of expression in everything I do.
