Brooklyn producer Jeff Sorkowitz has debuted on Insomniac sub-label IN / ROTATION with his latest single, ‘Move Shake.’ The release marks a shift in his production approach, as it is the first record to feature his own vocal work.
The cut utilizes a deep tech framework, incorporating dark acid squelches, punchy basslines, and tightly wound percussion. Sorkowitz’s guttural vocal hooks serve as the primary focal point, designed to drive momentum on the dance floor. The release follows a period of experimentation for the producer, who aims to refine a signature style blending high-energy dub with Romanian minimal influences.
‘Move Shake’ gained significant visibility after being featured in a viral video of Carl Cox at the Château de Chantilly in June. Beyond his solo production, Sorkowitz manages the Short Circuit label and has performed at venues including Ministry of Sound and the Knockdown Center.
