Joris Voorn has announced his new studio album ‘Melatonin’, a downtempo and ambient-focused release set to arrive on March 13th, 2026, aligning with World Sleep Day. The project serves as a companion piece to his 2025 studio album ‘Serotonin’.
While ‘Serotonin’ was rooted in club energy and movement, ‘Melatonin’ shifts inward. The record explores Voorn’s relationship with sound design and melodic clarity, leaning into longer-form textures and expansive sonic environments. The result is a quieter, widescreen listening experience that moves away from peak-time dancefloor production.
Across more than two decades, the Dutch producer has built a catalogue that bridges techno precision and melodic composition. His studio albums include ‘Future History’, ‘From a Deep Place’, ‘Nobody Knows’, ‘Four’, and ‘Serotonin’. Beyond his own releases, Voorn has contributed to the DJ mix canon with Balance 014, Fabric 83, and ‘Global Underground 043: Rotterdam’.
‘Melatonin’ will be released to coincide with World Sleep Day, an annual global initiative highlighting the importance of sleep and the conditions that shape it. The timing reflects the album’s thematic focus on rest, rhythm, and the quieter hours it is designed to inhabit.
To mark the release, Voorn will present a special one-off performance at Amsterdam’s ARTIS Planetarium. The event will feature a 360-degree audiovisual show, with the artist performing the album live to a seated audience of 320, surrounded by celestial projections across the dome. The full-length performance will be broadcast live via YouTube on release day.
