Kompakt’s Pop Ambient series celebrates its 25th edition, featuring top ambient artists. Series curator Wolfgang Voigt reflects on this quarter-century milestone, highlighting how this achievement demonstrates the series’ unwavering commitment to musical exploration.
The 2025 edition brings together veterans and newcomers alike. Leandro Fresco and Thore Pfeiffer open with ‘Goldwasserfluss,’ while Pass Into Silence returns after 20 years with ‘Mirage.’ New collaborations feature Sebastian Mullaert with Tamara Davitashvili, and Sono Kollektiv with Nathalie Brum and Luis Reich. The compilation also showcases Blank Gloss and Hendrik Meyer, before concluding with Jens-Uwe Beyer’s ‘In Defense of Symbolic Value.’
