Kostya Outta has released his new single ‘Runway’, now available to stream and purchase across all major digital platforms via Protagonist Recordings.
Built around bright, tactile analogue synths, the track channels the kind of purposeful, forward-moving energy its title suggests. It sits comfortably within the melodic, ‘outta space’ aesthetic Kostya has made his own, while feeling like one of his most personal and assured productions to date.
For the artist, the release carries real weight. Having started producing nearly twenty years ago, Kostya has explored a wide range of sounds and genres throughout his career; much of it shaped by audience expectations and the demands of peak-time club sets. ‘Runway’ represents a conscious return to the music that first moved him: melodic, intention-driven, and free from outside pressure.
“I started to produce music some 20 years ago, and almost from the beginning I fell in love with that type of music which ‘Runway’ sounds like,” Kostya shares. “Along the way, I tried a lot of different kinds of sounds and genres, but through all my production experience, I carried that idea that there will be a day when I achieve that life when I can write music like this — not trying to match somebody’s expectations, but just making it from my intention and true inner passion. The audience mostly expects releases from me with a more clubby sound, good for peak time. But finally, I have a pretty good release schedule for this year that gives me an opportunity to produce more music coming from my inner vision. And this single is exactly about that. Really happy to release it with Protagonist Recordings, where the team shares my vision and music passion.”
