French electronic musician LAAKE is scheduled to drop his new album ‘VOLT’ on October 6th, 2023 via SOMAA, The Orchard. The lead single ‘LAM’ has already been released and draws inspiration from the force of electricity.

The LP’s creation was sparked by a real-life electrocution, which inspired the artist to transform what was originally intended to be a solo piano album into a haunting and thrilling journey. The album is driven by an internal force, taking listeners on a hypnotic ride.

For ‘VOLT,’ LAAKE collaborated with ten musicians from various musical backgrounds. The combination of piano, strings, brass, and percussion creates a rich and diverse sound. The record features sub-bass, vocals, and structured tracks with verses, choruses, and bridges. LAAKE’s music has evolved from electronic to something more organic and less impersonal.

With a natural sense of rhythm and years of piano experience, LAAKE developed a signature sound that goes beyond contemporary classical music. He has explored different sonic landscapes, collaborating with electronic artists such as Laurent Garnier, Vitalic, and Max Cooper.
