Lagartijeando, also known as Mati Zundel, is set to release his new album, ‘7 Caminos,’ in March 2025, marking another milestone in his journey through Latin American electronic music. The first single, ‘Cumbia De La Selva’, is now available via Wonderwheel Recordings.
‘Cumbia De La Selva’ is a pulsating cumbia that draws inspiration from classic jazz piano notes and 70s-influenced keyboards, all refined with a contemporary finish. The track features vocals by Mati Zundel himself, whose lyrics describe a spiritual journey using the sun as a metaphor.
Recorded between Cholula, Mexico, and Tarapoto, Peru, the album blends South American wilderness with Mexican highland influences. ‘7 Caminos’ represents his fourth consecutive LP with Wonderwheel Recordings, following the success of ‘La Tercera Visión’, ‘Jallalla’, and ‘El Gran Poder’.
Lagartijeando has established himself alongside contemporaries like Nicola Cruz, Chancha Via Circuito, and El Búho. Since 2009, he has collaborated with labels including ZZK Records and Waxploitation, achieving over 15,000 physical sales and 25+ million streams. His performances have reached audiences across Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
