Laurent Garnier, the renowned French musician and producer, has been forced to cancel his upcoming gigs for the summer festival season due to health concerns. In a post on his Instagram account, the artist cited “health reasons” as the cause for the cancellations and apologized to his fans for any inconvenience caused.
The canceled gigs include some of the biggest festivals in Europe, such as Sónar in Barcelona, Karrusel in Copenhagen, and Nuits Sonores in Lyon.
Garnier, who is now 57 years old, is set to release a new album in May, his first in six years. He expressed his disappointment at not being able to share his new tracks with his fans on the dance floor due to his health issues.
Despite the setback, Garnier remains optimistic about the future and promised to return to the stage “in force” once his health concerns have been resolved. He has previously stated that he plans to retire from touring at the end of 2024 to avoid becoming a “dusty, old jukebox.”
Fans of Garnier have expressed their support for the artist on social media, wishing him a speedy recovery and looking forward to his return to the stage.
