Layton Giordani officially launched his new label MADMINDS with the release of ‘When It Kicks’, a collaboration with Green Velvet. Out now via Armada Music, the track arrives as the label’s first offering and a defining statement of intent.
Debuted at Giordani’s headline show in New York last December, ‘When It Kicks’ has already earned widespread support from major players including Adam Beyer, Solomun, Mau P, and John Summit. The track fuses explosive energy with Green Velvet’s unmistakable edge, setting the tone for a series of future-forward releases under the MADMINDS banner.
The project holds personal significance. Initially intended for Green Velvet’s label, it was the Chicago icon himself who encouraged Giordani to start his own imprint instead. That advice became the catalyst for MADMINDS, a platform driven by experimentation and cross-genre curiosity.
The duo will perform together at Experts Only Festival in New York this month, followed by a joint set at The Shrine in Los Angeles this November.
