Producer Legowelt, real name Danny Wolfer,  has unveiled his latest musical venture, ‘The Art of DX7,’ a collaborative project with Dim Garden. Released through Nightwind Records, the album celebrates the iconic Yamaha DX7 synthesizer and includes the complete set of sound patches used in the recording.

The project showcases the enduring appeal of vintage synthesizers, especially the Yamaha DX7. Introduced in 1983, this FM synthesizer transformed electronic music with its distinctive metallic and bell-like tones.

In his new LP, Wolfers crafts what he calls “synthesizer folk songs filled with nostalgia and yearning.” He creates a distinct sonic palette by processing the DX7 through analog filters and using the Dexed controller.

To use Wolfers’ sound collection, upload SysEx files to the synthesizer using SysEx Librarian via MIDI.
