Lightroom has announced David Bowie: ‘You’re Not Alone’, a new immersive experience opening April 22, 2026, at its King’s Cross venue in London. Created in close collaboration with the David Bowie Estate, the exhibition offers a deeply personal journey through Bowie’s creative world, told in his own words.

Written and directed by 59 Productions’ Mark Grimmer and Tom Wexler, ‘You’re Not Alone’ uses 360° visuals and spatial audio to bring Bowie’s voice, performances, and imagination to life. The exhibition draws from thousands of hours of archival material housed in the David Bowie Archive in New York, including restored footage, rare drawings, lyrics, and interviews.

Rather than focus on Bowie’s famous alter egos, ‘You’re Not Alone’ shifts attention to the man himself—exploring the thinking, vulnerability, and artistic force behind his shape-shifting personas. Tracks from ‘Space Oddity’ through ‘Diamond Dogs’, ‘Heroes’, and ‘Blackstar’ have been newly reconfigured by award-winning sound designer Gareth Fry to make full use of Lightroom’s immersive audio environment.

Structured in looping chapters, the experience explores Bowie’s reflections on creativity, theatricality, spirituality, and identity—often in his own voice. Surreal and poignant moments appear throughout, including a reimagining of the ‘Diamond Dogs’ tour set and a 1975 TV exchange where Bowie wrests control of the interview narrative.

Executive Producer David Sabel described the project as a rare opportunity: “To spend time in his world as it comes to life around you… whether reliving it or experiencing it for the first time, is a total thrill.” Grimmer added: “We designed a show to celebrate Bowie as a champion of human creativity—focusing on the message he expressed time and again: that art, in all its forms, is our best hope for understanding what it means to be alive.”
