Gorillaz have unveiled ‘The Manifesto’, a new single featuring Argentine rapper Trueno and a posthumous verse by the late Detroit-born D12 member Proof. The track is the second release from their forthcoming ninth studio album, ‘The Mountain’.
‘The Manifesto’ explores themes of life, death, and transformation through Trueno’s charged verses and a striking freestyle from Proof, recorded just minutes before stepping into the booth. The track also features contributions from Indian classical musicians Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash on sarod, bansuri by Ajay Prasanna, brass by Jea Band Jaipur, and choir vocals led by Vijayaa Shanker.
The single follows September’s release of ‘The Happy Dictator’ featuring Sparks, and continues to reflect the global and collaborative nature of ‘The Mountain’, which includes voices in Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish, and Yoruba. The full album is due in 2026, with contributions from Anoushka Shankar, Asha Bhosle, Yasiin Bey, Johnny Marr, IDLES, Bizarrap, and many others.
Gorillaz will support ‘The Mountain’ with a UK and Ireland tour in 2026, including two dates at Co-op Live in Manchester and a one-off headline performance at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, June 20th, joined by Sparks and Trueno. Grab your tickets here.
