It’s a reinterpretation of their earlier work ‘Profound Mysteries’.

Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp has released ‘Nebulous Nights – An Ambient Excursion Into Profound Mysteries.’ This ethereal new album reimagines their ‘Profound Mysteries’ through an ambient lens, offering listeners a fresh perspective on their sixth studio work.
The unannounced release arrives with an artistic statement from the duo, emphasizing the album’s deeper purpose. “Outside the pure listening pleasure, ‘Nebulous Nights’ seeks to underline the importance of critical thinking and curious pondering—to foster a mindset that allows for exploration and personal growth by not limiting one’s imagination and inquiry to a particular worldview or framework,” they explain.
The artists draw inspiration from Einstein’s philosophical musings on mystery as the wellspring of artistic and scientific discovery, encouraging listeners to embrace wonder and remain open to life’s enigmas.
Following their 2022 ‘Profound Mysteries’ trilogy, this ambient interpretation builds on the original project’s collaborations with visual artist Jonathan Zawada and vocalists Alison Goldfrapp, Susanne Sundfør, Pixx, and Astrid S.
