The recordings will receive a vinyl release this year.
Thirty years after its inception, four previously unreleased remixes by Frankie Knuckles of Electribe 101’s song ‘Heading for The Night’ will be available on vinyl later year. British electronic group Electribe 101 released their only album, ‘Electribal Memories’, in 1990, reaching the top of the UK charts. Due to its popularity, the album received remixes of some of the most in-demand remixers of the day, including Chicago house legends like Frankie Knuckles and Larry Heard.
Discussing the newly discovered remixes, Electribe 101’s Billie Ray Martin said: ‘Frankie had already done an incredible job with ‘Talking with Myself’ and was in love with ‘Heading for The Night’. He enjoyed mixing it so much that he made six mixes, each one is amazing and touching in its own way. His ability to work with vocal pieces to create a more danceable version makes this another Knuckles masterpiece.’
