Adam Beyer, the Swedish techno pioneer behind Drumcode, continues his prolific run with his new EP ‘Don’t Go,’ following his latest release ‘Ghost Kiss.’
The package showcases a blend of modern sound design and organic elements, creating a futuristic yet human sonic journey.
‘Don’t Go’ opens with ethereal synths and doppler effects, quickly establishing its presence. The track’s focal point is its vocal treatment—a two-line chorus processed into various forms, serving as riff, melody, and crescendo-builder. This creates a catchy call-and-response pattern that infuses the track with primal energy, seamlessly blending with the pulsating percussion.
‘Tool Of Thought,’ the EP’s second track, offers a futuristic journey. Beyer crafts a complex rhythm with layered beats, hi-hats, and metallic bass. Siren-like hoover notes enhance the ominous atmosphere, while vocoder-processed vocals add depth to the rich soundscape.
