Vintage synth enthusiast Italo Brutalo has unveiled his second album, ‘Second Horizon’, through Bungalo Disco, the label he co-founded with his girlfriend. The German producer, known for his collection of retro analogue synths, delivers a modern yet nostalgic journey across 11 dynamic tracks.
‘Second Horizon’ opens with ‘City Sight’, where warm synths, acid tweaks, and dreamy vocoder vocals create a rich, immersive atmosphere. The darker ‘Memory Sync’ brings intense energy, while ‘Digital Freedom’ combines a captivating hi-hat and kick drum pattern with an instant serotonin-boosting acid bass and Italo disco melody.
On ‘Surveillance State’, Italo Brutalo raises the tempo, crafting an eerie soundscape that evokes a feeling of paranoia. ‘Technology’ pays homage to Kraftwerk with a futuristic, mechanical groove, and ‘Heiss oder Kalt’ merges warm and cool synths, accented by an offbeat vocal sample.
The first single, ‘Chasing Shadows,’ propels listeners into an adrenaline-charged ride, blending TB-303 acid lines with a robotic vocal. The album shifts gears with the downtempo ‘Free To Move’ and the cinematic ‘Black Gold’, before returning to club-focused cuts like ‘Human Code’ and the shadowy ‘I Am a Creator’. ‘Tonight’ brings the LP to a joyful, satisfying close.
