American-born, London-based producer and songwriter Merrick Winter has just unveiled his new single, ‘Veneer’.
Written in the midst of the pandemic, Merrick Winter’s ‘Veneer’ features the collaboration of co-producer Patrick James Fitzroy, as the pair deliver a truly cinematic creation where Winter’s voice merges with distant and eerie sounds, dusted with strings and uplifting acoustic guitar strums.
“We wrote out some ground rules for this EP in a pub as I remember, one of which was to be hyper-intentional with each recorded element; to not take shortcuts in the box – 90 percent of what you hear is from analogue sources – a lot of space-echo feedback and tape printing,” says Merrick Winter about the forthcoming EP.
