Moby is kickstarting his 2023 with the release of his new studio album ‘Ambient 23’. The drop comes after a social media post in which the artist announced that he was working on the album, and would be released on January 1st, 2023.
According to Moby’s post, ‘Ambient 23’ was recorded using “weird old drum machines and old synths” and is “inspired by… early ambient heroes,” including Martyn Ware, Brian Eno, and Jean-Michel Jarre, among others.
In a separate announcement, Moby wrote about the new album: “Made to help anxiety (my own, and hopefully yours, too). For 2023, may we all be less anxious (and may we all stop looking for validation from a culture we don’t respect…).”
