Following a sold-out debut season in 2024, the 360° immersive music experience ‘in the dark’ returns to London for a new run of shows this January 2026.
The first performances of the year are set to take place at St. Andrew’s Church in Holborn on January 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th. Audiences will once again be invited into complete darkness, wearing sleep masks as 30 musicians perform a 60-minute acoustic set with no amplification, no conductor, and no visual distraction. The result is a strikingly intimate listening experience guided solely by the senses.
Designed as a 360° choreographed journey of live sound, in the dark reimagines the concert format by relying on pure acoustic dynamics and the spatial character of the venue. Each show is different, shaped by the instinctive interplay between musicians and the natural acoustics of the space. As founder Andrea Cockerton puts it: “In a world obsessed with being seen, we’re asking people to disappear for an hour. ‘in the dark’ is a quiet, sound, rebellion. No phones, no spectacle, no distractions… just the rare chance to actually feel music again.”
Since its 2017 beginnings in Cambridge, the project has sold out over 60 performances and attracted more than 8,000 attendees. Its London premiere in 2024 garnered critical acclaim, earning the Offies Assessors Choice award and featuring musicians drawn from the West End, Royal College of Music, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Tickets for the January 2026 performances are now available here.
