Renowned instrument designer Love Hultén is set to broaden their reach by launching their first-ever mass-produced synthesizer. This venture is in collaboration with Analog Sweden, known for their exceptional synth designs.
Hultén unveiled two prototypes of this new synthesizer, aptly named CRUM2, at the Superbooth synth trade show in Berlin. The CRUM2 synthesizer represents a unique blend of function and design, embodying a “generative, percussive, melodic instrument” that marries drum pads with an advanced synth engine. With controls for a kick drum, snare, hi-hats, and a bass synth, the CRUM2 provides versatility by functioning in both percussive and melodic modes.
The CRUM2 showcases its adaptability and compatibility, operable either through pad strikes or via MIDI and CV. Designed with Eurorack and line outputs in mind, the synth features an integrated drum machine equipped with a step sequencer and an array of randomizers. Alongside these, it promises an enriching sound experience with onboard effects such as reverb, delay, overdrive, and a compressor.
