Madame Tussauds New York celebrates Daft Punk with wax figures

As part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations of their ‘Random Access Memories’ album.

The French electronic music duo, Daft Punk, composed of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, has been honored with wax figures at Madame Tussauds in New York City.

In line with Daft Punk’s distinct look, the wax figures sport the duo’s characteristic helmets, revealing no “skin”. They are also dressed in sequined replicas of Saint Laurent’s Le Smoking tuxedos, reflecting their ‘Random Access Memories’ promotional attire.

The unveiling of these figures is more than just a tribute to Daft Punk. As stated by Ben Shapiro, an executive at Madame Tussauds New York, it also signifies a celebration of French artistic innovation and the global impact of music and art.

This event is one of many commemorating the 10th anniversary of Daft Punk’s iconic ‘Random Access Memories’ album. Other celebratory acts include a reissue of the album with previously unreleased music, a drumless edition, a five-part mini-documentary about their collaborators, a separate documentary series about creating ‘Infinity Repeating’ with Julian Casablancas, and a ‘Memory Tapes’ interview series.
