Argentinean DJ & producer artist Maxi Degrassi has released his first EP on SLAPPED Records. Titled ‘Dusty Beep’, the two-track outing finds the producer embracing a more experimental and energetic sound.
The title track ‘Dusty Beep’ moves with a more relaxed flow, driven by psychedelic synths, rap vocals, and a tech-leaning bassline. On the flip, ‘Attention Customers’ incorporates organic bass, robotic vocals, and flute-inspired sounds, leaning further into Indie-inspired territory.
This release, he explains, came from a space of freeform creativity. “This release didn’t come from a concrete idea, but rather from improvisation within my daily studio routine. It was a natural process that allowed me to further shape the style I’ve been showcasing in my performances. Unlike some of my past productions, which were a bit more laid-back, this time I found a sound with more energy and presence, one that’s more in tune with the stage I’m at today,” he shared.
Known for his work on All Day I Dream, Get Physical, and Trybesof, Degrassi brings a new edge to his versatile style, which blends deep house and Indie influences with melodic and percussive textures.
SLAPPED Records, launched by Mitch Oliver in 2023, continues its genre-fluid mission with this release. Based in Montreal, the label champions creative freedom, supporting styles from refined Deep House to Acid and Downtempo.
