Recently, Meyer teamed up with Moosa Saleem, a singer, songwriter, and music composer from Kashmir, India. Together, they released their latest single, ‘Shattered,’ on Meyer’s newly launched label, ETERNAL Records.

This collaboration showcases captivating melodic techno music, creating a seamless and immersive soundscape that deeply resonates with listeners. The extended mix of ‘Shattered’ highlights Meyer’s skillful arrangement, while the remixes by Cosmic Boys and Hevi Levi bring a fresh perspective to the original track, introducing unique twists that enhance its central themes.

In an interview with EG, Meyer and Moosa Saleem discussed the inspiration behind their collaborative release and shared insights into their future endeavors.

EG: Hi, guys! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you right now?

Meyer: Hey guys, doing great, thank you! I’m currently based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your new collaborative single, ‘Shattered’! You must be very excited to finally share this one. What has the initial reception been like? Do you remember the first time you played this one live? (if you have)

Meyer & Moosa Saleem: Thank you and appreciate the kind words! It’s been almost a year since we wrapped up the tune. First, we played this track in the summer at a party and then made a world premiere on Insomniac Radio. We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from the fans ever since.

EG: So, what can your fans expect to find on ‘Shattered’? Is there an emotional trigger driving this one?

Meyer: Moosa has resonated well with the original idea of my arrangement, which led to a story of a broken heart that was in the verse of the track.

EG: And what was the collaborative process like? Did you guys hit any kind of roadblock?

Meyer: There were a few edits on the vocals, but overall the workflow went smoothly. When Moosa sent the final revisions, I completed the arrangement in a few days.

EG: By the way, ‘Shattered’ is out via Meyer’s newly launched ETERNAL Recordings. Congratulations on its first release! What drove you to create ETERNAL?

Meyer: My team and I created our own label, Eternal, to showcase my vision of music as an independent artist and to attract young talents, develop our own brand, and host showcases under the ETERNAL banner.

EG: What can we expect from ETERNAL in 2024?

Meyer: We have a couple of tracks in the pipeline that will be accompanied by well-known names within the industry.

EG: The release of ‘Shattered’ also features two unique remixes, courtesy of HEVI LEVI and Cosmic Boys. Did you guys have any prior relationship? Why did you decide to go with them as remixers for this particular release?

Meyer: My manager made an introduction, and I loved the music that these guys were putting out there. So it was a no-brainer, to be honest.

EG: The incorporation of AI in electronic music seems to be on the rise, whether it’s in the music, the album covers, or beyond. Do you have a particular stance on this?

Meyer: I don’t like AI in the music industry. To create music, you need a soul to convey your sound and emotions, which do not exist in AI.

EG: Finally, can you provide some insights into what’s next for Meyer & Moosa Saleem? What’s in store for 2024? Where can your fans catch you next?

Meyer: We continue to work on other ideas and will try to implement them accordingly. We have some performances lined up this year in Europe.

EG: Thank you so much for your time, guys! We wish you all the best for the future. Take care!

Meyer: Thank you for having me and giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts. I hope you enjoy ‘Shattered.’
