Mickey Mann, the Scottish sound engineer and producer known for his work across electronic music, has died. He was 64 years old.

According to a GoFundMe page launched in his memory, Mann passed away one week before his 65th birthday. The Press and Journal reports that he suffered a heart attack on June 3rd and later died in hospital on June 9th, 2026.

Born in Aberdeen in June 1960, Mann joined The Shamen on tour in 1985 after meeting Colin Angus and Will Sinnott at the city’s Royal Cornhill Hospital, where all three were working. He later became The Shamen’s manager and booked Orbital as a support act.

Mann went on to work as a sound engineer with artists including Basement Jaxx, Aphex Twin, Moby, Rachid Taha, System 7, Megadog, Drum Club, Meat Beat Manifesto, Ultramarine, and Curve. He also fronted the dark electronic outfit Pressure of Speech, which was established in 1993.

A fundraiser has been created to help cover Mann’s funeral and support the costs of bringing his family to London.
