Ministry of Sound is launching a sober rave series this Summer in response to evolving nightlife trends, running quarterly from May 11th through November.
Although Ministry of Sound previously ran events like Ecstatic Disco and Dry Disco, the 2025 sober series marks a significant milestone—the club’s first dedicated in-house brand for alcohol-free nightlife, representing a shift in London’s club culture.
Leading this initiative is DRIIA, whose personal sober raving journey shapes her artistic direction. This London-based DJ has made her mark in the underground scene by mixing UKG, Jungle, and Breaks into her ethereal sound. Named Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 Future Star last year, she continues to receive support from figures like Main Phase, Turno, and Jaguar while championing sober experiences in underground dance music.
A non-alcoholic beverage program will complement the venue starting February. Bar manager Laura Andrijauskaitė, inspired by her own sober lifestyle, has created a mocktail menu through careful research. The selection includes premium low and no-alcohol options from LUCKY SAINT, Trip, and REAL.co, offering craft beer alternatives, functional mushroom drinks, and CBD-infused beverages.
“I’d love to be a part of creating a fresh space in London for people to experience a (largely) sober day of music,” shares DRIIA. “For me, the focus would be demonstrating that sobriety doesn’t impinge on enjoyment—if anything it can enhance it. By working with Ministry of Sound nightclub, we can demonstrate that you can still love underground genres like UKG, DnB, Dubstep, Jungle, and be sober/sober-curious. Dancing isn’t something that should be mutually exclusive with drinking, and to offer a space where music and community takes priority would be important in this ever-growing sober-curious society we live in.”
As nightlife culture evolves, Ministry of Sound stands at the forefront of innovation with this comprehensive initiative.
