This follows other hosting cities like Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, and Dubai.
The renowned festival will be arriving to San Francisco, USA next year. The info went viral due to the graffiti teasers the organization usually do. The scheduled dates are May 3-6, 2018.
MUTEK is an organization dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music, and audio-visual art, their principal activity is the annual presentation of its namesake festival, which has taken place in Montreal since 2000. Since its first edition, the music gathering has distinguished itself as an international rendezvous for original and avant-grade programming.
Miroslav Wiesner, founder of San Francisco-based booking and management company Surefire Agency, will be supporting them and commented, “I had never been to a festival so meticulously curated, so well conceived and so cohesive in a presentation. I knew I would be a devotee from the start but I didn’t expect it to feel as familiar as it did. The intersection of art, music, and technology combined with the adaptive nature of the city, its accessible size, the concentration of ideas and its constant supply of curious travelers make San Francisco an ideal location for the first American MUTEK edition.”
MUTEK will be announcing its initial lineup and venues in the coming weeks. In the meantime, they are accepting proposals from local artists.
