N1NJA has teamed up with South African singer Nana Atta for ‘Umusa’, a new collaborative single out now via Get Physical Music.
Meaning grace, ‘Umusa’ was born from a creative connection that began remotely before deepening in South Africa, where the two artists eventually met through N1NJA’s work with IMS and Beatport. Introduced by Zakes Bantwini, the collaboration developed around an unfinished sketch that immediately resonated with Nana Atta and later evolved into the final track.
The song blends emotionally charged synth lines with shimmering percussion and a grounding bassline, while Nana Atta’s vocal delivery carries the track through moments of urgency, reflection, and resolve. Together, the elements form a composition rooted in resilience and emotional clarity.
Ahead of the release, N1NJA and Nana Atta performed ‘Umusa’ together at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg, a historic site closely tied to South Africa’s struggle for justice and liberation. The performance underscored the song’s themes of transformation and strength, shaped by both artists’ personal and creative journeys.
