The takeover will breathe new ideas and resources into the music tech giant.
German music hardware and software developer, manufacturer, and supplier Native Instruments has a new owner after Francisco Partners, a private equity company, acquired a majority stake in the company. The creators, among other things, of Traktor DJ, struck a deal with a company after the previous owners, EMH Partners, and the original founders of the company agreed to sell the majority of the company.
‘It will provide Native Instruments with the resources it needs to continue to consolidate the fragmented software industry and create a more enjoyable experience for music creators’, said Native Instruments’ new owner Francisco Partners. In recent times, NI managed to increase its revenue by 60% and its user base doubled to 1.5 million.
In the midst of the takeover, users wonder what will happen to Traktor. While the software has been somewhat lagged when it comes to updates as of late, the team could be looking into the steps to release a future update.
