A no-piano three-hour record.
Composer Nils Frahm has unveiled details of his upcoming album ‘Music For Animals’. The new record is his first material in four years to be released via his own LEITER imprint and will be available on September 23rd, 2022.
‘Music For Animals’ was recorded in Frahm’s own Berlin studio, and documents the producer’s experience of solitude during the pandemic. “Nothing was happening and I felt like this was a special time which needed a special kind of music. My constant inspiration was something as mesmerizing as watching a great waterfall or the leaves on a tree in a storm… Some people like watching the leaves rustle and the branches move. This record is for them.”, explains Frahm about the upcoming drop.
Curiously enough, the new record doesn’t feature any piano on it, and it’s also the first time the artist collaborated with his wife. “One day, she brought a picnic over to the studio, and we opened a bottle of wine, then I showed her my new instrument, a glass harmonica. When she tried playing it, it sounded amazing, and I recorded that first interaction.”
In line with the announcement, Nils Frahm also shared ‘Right Right Right’, the first single to spawn from the upcoming LP.
