Nye returns with ‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’, a new eight-track release out now on Large Hall Records. The project draws from a range of influences while maintaining a focused, club-ready sound.
With ‘Pocket Atmos, Stellar Kitchen’, Large Hall Records steps into a mood both reflective and functional. Across eight tracks, Nye channels machine soul, post-punk shimmer, and basement-level pressure to deliver a work that nods to Detroit techno, New Order, UK acid house, and electro, without being tethered to any specific lineage.
The collection leans into patient grooves over grand drops, using straight-ahead drum programming and restrained synth motifs to set a low-slung tone. As the record unfolds, Nye expands the palette with rubbery basslines, glassy leads, and spectral vocal fragments that evoke the emotional residue of early-morning club memories.
Later tracks slow the pace, introducing dusty chords, subtle acid details, and looping pads that echo Midwest traditions and the raw, analog aesthetic of Paranoid London. The overall result is quietly confident and emotionally charged, offering a late-night atmosphere that lingers long after the lights come on.
