Drawing from his roots in jazz and a fascination with both tribal tradition and modular technology, Israeli-born artist Omer Keinan has forged a distinct path through electronic music.

His hybrid DJ sets—layering synths, live instrumentation, and vocals—reflect a desire to make music that breathes, pulses, and surprises. Whether through trumpet, harmonica, or analog machines, Keinan’s artistry is defined by emotional honesty and spontaneous energy.
Now co-leading the Ursul label alongside T-Puse, Keinan is building a creative home for artists who share a raw, jam-based approach to club music. With the recent release of his new solo EP, ‘Random Days’, Keinan opens a new chapter—one marked by experimentation, live elements, and a growing vision for the future of his sound.
In this conversation, Omer Keinan opens up about ‘Random Days’, the philosophy behind Ursul, and why unpredictability still matters in dance music.
EG: Hi, Omer! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been?
Omer Keinan: Good to be here! I’m great, thank you!
EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your new EP, Random Days! You must be stoked to have this one out and about. What are some of your thoughts now that it’s out? What has the initial reception been like so far?
Omer Keinan: Thank you! It’s my second two-track EP in my solo project. I’ve been playing these tracks for a while, and it feels great to finally release them. I also sing on one of the tracks, which is something new for me—so that’s really exciting!
EG: So, Random Days is quite a unique name. Where did it come from?
Omer Keinan: Actually, it’s just what it sounds like. I wrote the first track ‘Random Days’ during some pretty random days in my life. I felt like something needed to happen, and that energy became the track.
EG: What can your fans expect to find on this particular EP? Is there a thread connecting all two cuts?
Omer Keinan: There’s definitely a connection. Both tracks have a vocal element, and they bring a bit of a rock & roll attitude—still dance-driven, but raw and alive.

EG: And the record is out via your own Ursul Records. How did the label come about? Where is Ursul Records at the moment? Where do you see the label in the next 5 years?
Omer Keinan: Ursul Records keeps growing—slowly but surely. We’re planning to sign more music from established artists who connect with our “Jam House” vision: powerful, danceable, and live—music that feels raw, improvised, and full of energy.
EG: You have a strong affinity for jazz and a deep love for its complexity… How does one marry the “unpredictability” of jazz with something so rooted in pattern like electronic dance music?
Omer Keinan: When I perform live, I always bring my keyboard. There’s always a live element that keeps the music breathing and unpredictable—just like jazz.
EG: Looking back… how did your first interactions with electronic dance music come about? What was it about it that you found alluring? When did you dive into music production and DJing?
Omer Keinan: The first time I touched a Moog Synth.
EG: What do you think will be some of the biggest challenges for artists in the coming years?
Omer Keinan: AI, of course. But I don’t see it as real competition—it can’t replace human emotion and creativity.

EG: What’s next for Omer Keinan? What milestones are you looking forward to now? Where can your fans catch you next?
Omer Keinan: I’m playing shows all over and have some amazing releases on the way. Really looking forward to what’s coming next!
EG: Thank you so much for your time, Omer! We wish you all the best in the future. Take care!
Omer Keinan: Thank you! Appreciate it!
