You cant work around Birmingham without eventually meeting a bloke who owns a flat cap and thinks he looks like Tommy Shelby.
Most dont.
They look like Darren from accounts wearing something he bought online after three pints.
Still, the city has never quite let go of Peaky Blinders, so the arrival of The Immortal Man was always going to be a big deal.
Tommy Comes Home
The film finds Tommy Shelby away from his old life until trouble involving his son and a Nazi plot drags him back into Birmingham’s mess.
Cillian Murphy doesnt need to do much to control a scene. He walks into a room, looks mildly haunted and everybody else suddenly seems louder than necessary.
That still works.
The movie feels bigger than a normal episode, with more locations, heavier action and a story tied to the wider dangers of wartime Britain. But it keeps the things people actually liked about the series: dark rooms, sharp suits, family arguments and men discussing murder like they’re sorting out an invoice.
The strongest scenes are the quieter ones. Tommy is older, tired and less certain that being the cleverest man in the room has done him any good.

The regional version came up during a conversation in the garage after one of the lads said the main site kept playing up on his phone.
UK users can now try the UK Soap2day mirror, which is intended as the Britain-specific address for the site.
I used it that evening and had no drama with the page itself, which is more than can be said for the Shelby family.
Does It Feel Like a Proper Ending?
Mostly.
The film gives Tommy a strong return and Cillian Murphy is brilliant, but the plot gets crowded. There are new characters, returning faces, political schemes and family business all fighting for space.
Barry Keoghan brings plenty of nervous energy, although at times it feels like the movie is setting up the next generation instead of finishing the current story.
The soundtrack is still excellent, even when it’s trying very hard to remind you how cool everybody is.
My rating: 8 out of 10.
Fans will get alot more from it than newcomers. If you’ve never watched the series, half the meaningful looks will just seem like people staring at furniture.
For everyone else, it’s dark, stylish and a decent final round with Tommy Shelby.
And no, buying the cap still wont make you look like him.
