Brooklyn Mirage’s anticipated reopening has been postponed indefinitely due to compliance-related delays in the final inspection process. The venue—part of the larger Avant Gardner complex—was scheduled to reopen on May 1st, 2025, with a sold-out two-night run by Sara Landry. Instead, the artist played an impromptu set at Knockdown Center after Mirage officials announced the cancellation just hours before doors were set to open.
In a statement, Mirage clarified: “The venue is show-ready and the New Mirage has been built to exacting safety, structural, mechanical, and technical specifications. However, we were not able to meet the final inspection deadline today.” They emphasized that the delay was about “compliance, not construction.”
Renovations at Mirage began in early 2025 under new CEO Josh Wyatt and included a revamped sound system, new mezzanines, and an expanded dance floor, increasing capacity to 6,250 attendees. While Wyatt previously stated the venue would “100 percent” reopen as planned, documents show three construction permits are still “on hold” pending city approval.
The status of upcoming shows, including Loud Luxury (May 9th) and Cloonee (May 10th), remains uncertain. Mirage says it’s working with city officials to resolve the issue and promises continued transparency.
