Paris-based label R&D is excited to announce the upcoming release of ‘Bloco Vol 2’ by the PPJ trio. The lead single from the album, titled ‘Beijo’ is already available to stream and download.

With ‘Beijo’ PPJ sets the stage for what the Bloco series is all about: a dynamic dancefloor where the Brazilian street party merges with the energy of a club soundsystem.

Comprised of the Franco-Brazilian trio Páula, Povoa, and Jerge, PPJ defies easy categorization, breaking free from limitations imposed by geography or genre. Their music blends styles, combining elements of baile funk and samba from Páula’s native Brazil with techno, electroclash, and hyper-pop influences commonly found on this side of the Atlantic.

Páula emphasizes that PPJ aims to go beyond showcasing the stereotypical Brazil often seen on postcards. “Brazil can be both beautiful and violent,” she explains. “Within a single day, a single hour, you may encounter something brutal and something wonderful.” The songs on the Bloco Vol. 1 & 2 release series were born from these real-life moments.
