Primavera Sound organizers cancelled several opening-night headline performances yesterday, June 4th, 2026, due to severe weather and technical complications in Barcelona. Scheduled sets from Massive Attack, Bad Gyal, and Doja Cat were called off to ensure attendee and artist safety.
The disruption began earlier in the evening at Parc del Fòrum as heavy rain and thunderstorms moved across Catalonia. Local weather authorities had issued warnings for intense rainfall, predicting up to 60 millimetres of rain within an hour. Initial cancellations included daytime performances by Alex G and Mac DeMarco before organizers reduced operations to a handful of functioning stages.
While some areas of the festival managed to reopen later in the night, the main stages remained compromised, making the headline shows unsafe to stage.
The cancellations impacted a highly anticipated opening lineup for the Spanish festival. Massive Attack were scheduled for a prominent return after previously cancelling a headline slot at the event in 2022.
The festival continues through June 7th.
