Franco-American duo Ptelicans have released their latest single, ‘Driving Solo’, offering another glimpse into their forthcoming debut album, ‘Wasted’, due out on October 16th, 2026. Formed by Nic Hanson and Pastel, the project blends French funk, neo-soul, indie soul, and modern pop influences into a groove-led sound shaped by the pair’s complementary musical backgrounds.
Built around a driving bassline, crisp rhythms, and soulful vocals, ‘Driving Solo’ channels themes of freedom, movement, and self-confidence. The track balances classic musicianship with contemporary production, creating a laid-back yet energetic atmosphere designed as both a road-trip soundtrack and a club-ready listen.
Ptelicans was formed in London, where Hanson and Pastel developed the project through spontaneous jam sessions and a shared creative approach focused on instinct rather than convention. While Hanson brings a soul-rooted vocal style, Pastel’s production draws from a broad musical palette, resulting in a sound that merges groove, atmosphere, and melodic songwriting.
