Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood recovers after emergency hospitalization

The Smile, another of Greenwood’s projects, revealed the news on social media.

Jonny Greenwood, the acclaimed guitarist of Radiohead, was recently hospitalized and required intensive care due to a severe infection. The news came to light through a social media announcement by The Smile, another musical project of the artist, which also features Thom Yorke and Tom Skinner of Sons of Kemet. The announcement was made last Friday, July 12th.

“A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that needed emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care,” the band announced. “Mercifully, he’s now out of danger and will soon return home.”

In light of Greenwood’s health scare, The Smile has decided to cancel the rest of their tour dates.
