Relive MRAK’s futuristic set at MUTEK [ES + AR]

Once again, Barcelona’s MUTEK FESTIVAL is consolidated as one of the leading international sound and digital creation and innovation festivals. The commitment to a hybrid format has been a challenge that has highlighted the strong convictions of his team to promote the development and dissemination of audiovisual and digital creativity.

Immersive experiences, digital installations, and audiovisual shows by more than 50 artists from 15 nationalities have been some of the ingredients of the MUTEK [ES + AR] line-up, which took place between May 3rd and 9th for this first hybrid edition of MUTEK Barcelona in simultaneous with its counterpart in Argentina, MUTEK AR.

In addition to the face-to-face activities in Barcelona and the performances from Buenos Aires, the virtual programming of MUTEK [ES + AR] has been complemented by the MUTEK Connect program, adding a total of 18 more recorded performances in 4 cities, as well as artists in the Virtual Gallery and the Virtual Platform Listening Rooms.

The Electronic Groove team, as part of the MUTEK festival in-person programming, attended the exclusive worldwide presentation of MRAK (Carmine Conte / Tale of Us). We witnessed a heart-stopping Live session. His staging was otherworldly, as he provided an absolutely futuristic set, where man and machine formed a single entity.

The sonic architecture of MRAK also stood out during the show: a modular synthesizer, keyboards like classic piano, which at times the artist would let rip, interrupting cadences, thus giving it a more experimental and emotional air.

MRAK, like Stravinski, who reinvented his genre, takes us into new sonic territories to explore.

You can now relive MRAK‘s Live performance for MUTEK here.
