DJ and producer Renzo Zong presents his latest work, ‘Del Perú’ EP, a three-track release now available via MoBlack Records. Rooted in traditional rhythms and modern textures, the EP highlights Zong’s evolving sonic identity.
‘Del Perú’ EP features three distinctive compositions: ‘Pia Pia’, ‘Pajarito’, and ‘Tulumayos’. The opening track, ‘Pia Pia’, sets the tone with layered percussion, traditional vocals, and flowing synths, painting a vivid homage to Peru’s natural and musical essence. ‘Pajarito’ features Grammy-nominated vocalist Javier Lazo, infusing Afro-Peruvian elements through airy flute melodies, vocal phrasing, and intricate sound design. Closing with ‘Tulumayos’, the EP leans into celestial tones and grounded beats, offering a ritualistic tribute to Pachamama and further cementing the project’s cultural roots.
Through this release, Peru-born artist Renzo Zong continues his mission to blend the country’s musical traditions with psychedelic and electronic influences.
