Showcasing the next generation of North American techno artists.
Richie Hawtin has shared details of his upcoming North American tour, ‘From Our Minds – To Be Announced’. The unique eight-date tour will kick off this March 10th, 2023 in Detroit, the birthplace of techno, and will continue in a series of North American warehouses.
‘From Our Minds – To Be Announced Tour’ evolves from Hawtin’s CNTRL tours in 2012 & 2015, as the artist hit a number of US cities by bus, “giving a series of performances, lectures, and workshops, aimed at educating a new generation of electronic music enthusiasts on the sound and origins of techno music”.
Developed in collaboration with Canada-based Genova Agency founded by artists Barbosa, Decoder, and Garrett Finn (aka Rhyot), the tour will also see handpicked unsung artists joining Hawting on stage, representing scenes beyond the traditional major cities.
“Since starting my first label +8 in 1990, it’s always been important for me to help nurture, develop and promote new like-minded artists. Today with the ever-growing popularity and globalization of Techno, it’s critical to collaborate with the next generation, learning from one another and pushing forward together with open-minded curiosity,” says Hawtin about the concept for the new tour.
