Ripperton steps into the latest edition of EGLO with a deeply reflective mix centered around ‘Sirens,’ his new collaboration with Joy Frempong released via Compost Records.
Built from analogue textures, modular sketches, and emotionally charged songwriting, ‘Sirens’ began more than a decade ago after Ripperton first discovered Frempong’s work with OY on Swiss national radio. Years later, that connection evolved into a collaborative piece shaped by Arthur Hnatek’s percussion, Sacha Unger’s guitar work, and Frempong’s haunting vocal presence.
For EGLO.070, Ripperton expands on the atmosphere surrounding the release with a carefully paced selection that moves through ambient electronics, experimental textures, and meditative songwriting. The mix features music from Dagmar Zuniga, Gombeen & Doygen, Raica, Calexico, Marta, 36, Anthony Calonico, Lee Tracy & Isaac Manning, Zyggurat, Eliana Glass, alongside cuts from Colleen, Anthony Child, Hania Rani, Lord of the Isles, Radiohead, and two versions of ‘Sirens’.
A longstanding figure within Switzerland’s electronic scene, Ripperton has released music through labels including Innervisions, Border Community, Planet E, ESP Institute, and his own Tamed Musiq imprint.
