Mexican producer Roderic drops his second full-length album on Berlin label Katermukke. In the 10-track LP the electronic musician, who has recently been touring around the world sharing stages with names such as Acid Pauli, Nicola Cruz and Moonbootica, blends wide musical genres as diverse as Jazz, Blues, Balkanic, Latin, African, Psychedelic, Rock and Trance to create his own unique sound of organic electronic dance music.
Having released his first LP in 2016, ‘It All Depends’ shows a more dance-floor oriented Roderic with a catalog of tracks that are more DJ-friendly than the ones found in ‘Perfect Mirror’ also released on the German imprint.
The new album features colorful collaborations with the likes of Matt.i, Jacqueline Jones and Isabel Sesma who contribute outstanding vocals that naturally and harmoniously blend with Roderic’s sound.
The work as a whole is proof of Roderic’s production maturity with a continuum of songs that connect and make sense while showing off the artist’s rich tapestry of musical influences and knowledge. Take for example, the Spanish vocals in the track ‘It All Depends (Deep Version)’ or the undeniably jazzy sax in ‘The Truth’ immediately followed by Tango style strings, all while keeping you dancing with a solid deep house beat in the background.
In and out, ‘It All Depends’ reflects the well-thought, musically rich, carefully crafted work of an artist whose music is molded to stay interesting on the dance floor as well as in your living room.
