Roland teams with Moodymann for limited SP-404MKII sampler

Roland has unveiled a limited-edition SP-404MKII sampler inspired by the renowned producer Moodymann.

The SP-404MKII KDJ Records Limited Edition is a true collector’s item, with only 600 units available worldwide. Priced at US$599, this sampler boasts a custom Moodymann-designed faceplate, exclusive samples and patterns curated by the artist himself, six new tracks showcasing the sampler’s capabilities, a special 7-inch vinyl record, and a 60-minute mixtape offering insight into his creative process.

This collaboration isn’t Roland’s first nod to Detroit’s influential electronic music scene. Earlier this year, the Japanese manufacturer released a mini-documentary celebrating Underground Resistance, another pillar of Detroit’s techno movement. Watch here.
