Welsh DJ and producer Sasha is parting with 100 rare vinyl records from his private collection through a newly launched auction with Amplifyd.
The curated selection includes signed records, well-worn DJ tools, and one-off acetates of unreleased track versions. Notable items up for grabs include BT’s ‘Fibonacci Sequence’ and an exclusive acetate of Bedrock’s ‘Heaven Scent’, which Sasha cut from a digital audio tape (DAT) sent by Medway. “I had this amazing mastering engineer over at 777 in West London, who used to cut these one-off acetates for me,” he explained. “I cut the version I received of this Medway track to acetate. I had it for a long time, I think I had it for almost a year, just for myself.”
Also included in the auction are some of Sasha’s own iconic works, such as ‘Xpander’ and ‘Scorchio’, his collaboration with Underworld’s Darren Emerson. The DJ described the records as “signed copies, well-worn/played DJ tools, and unique acetates of unreleased versions of tracks—my secret weapons in an era before digital file transfers.”
Reflecting on the emotional weight of the decision, Sasha shared: “I’ve wrestled with this decision for over a decade, but I’m ready to let go and have partnered with Amplifyd for this exciting journey. Dan Willis and his team both understand and appreciate the historical importance of these records to my career and have shown endless enthusiasm, dedication, and passion in collaborating with me to bring this project to life, which has been a significant undertaking.”
