Sasha reveals more details of his compilation mix ‘LUZoSCURA’

Songs by MJ Cole and lau.ra are now available.

Sasha marks a new phase in his career with ‘LUZoSCURA’, a concept that allows him to present a different vision of his musical catalog, where ambient and downtempo electronics are elevated by breaks and techno.

The renowned producer created the name ‘LUZoSCURA’ a few years ago on Spotify as a playlist of music that was sent to him that did not match the rhythm of his club sets, nor did it conform to his revered LNOE label. This playlist thrived during the quarantine, so the sound away from the club felt good for the moment, and Sasha understood that he wanted to make his own music in this style.

‘The compilation process was an incredible experience connecting with new and rising artists that I wouldn’t normally receive music from. From this new project, I want people to be prepared for something beyond the 4 X 4 hype, something that goes in different directions. Mixing it was quite different from the standard progression I’m used to when playing because the beauty of the ‘LUZoSCURA’ sound is that it jumps between breakbeat, melodic and ambient, but it just flows.’ says Sasha himself.

‘LUZoSCURA’ will go on sale on May 7th. Pre-order your copy here and listen to the new singles by MJ Cole & lau.ra below.
