His family confirmed his death on social media.
Scottish DJ and producer Jamie Roy has died. According to a Facebook post by Roy’s family, Jamie passed away yesterday (September 20th), and no cause of death has been confirmed as of yet.
“Jamie was a much loved and talented son, brother, nephew and uncle and loved by his many friends and colleagues both within the music industry and beyond that. We are all absolutely heartbroken,” his family expressed.
Roy was born in Dumfries, Scottland, before becoming a recognized staple on the Ibiza circuit, participating in ventures such as ‘We Love…’ at Space, Nic Fanciulli’s ‘Dance Or Die’ residency, or Steve Lawler’s ‘Warriors’ event. This last summer saw him perform at the Palm Tree Festival in Croatia, DC-10 with Patrick Topping, and Albania’s Unum Festival.
As a producer, Roy released material on labels like Skream’s Of Unsound Mind, and Patrick Topping’s Trick, which is responsible for publishing ‘Organ Belta’, recognized as Roy’s biggest track to date.
