Imagine being in jail in South America, unfortunately for Alex AQ this has been the case for the last 2 years and this EP, ‘Tacumbeats’, is his scape valve to the outside world.
An outside world where he ran some of the best parties and clubs in the continent, with guests from Dettmann to Truncate, Zadig, Fjaak, Tripeo, Sterac and many more.
The harsh reality of the surroundings permeates the music, with samples from cell locks bangs, inmate’s vocals and jail chatter.
The result, taking into account this was done on headphones on the prison computer, is a strong 4-track techno EP that is as much a look to the world outside as it’s an act of resistance.
