Brian Cid’s Endangered Records starts off its 2022 release schedule with the 3rd instalment of Worlds Within Thee; a recurring series featuring both new and returning talent from all around the globe. As with the previous editions, Worlds Within Thee III is a carefully curated 5-track EP displaying the evolution of Endangered’s powerful & melodic sound. Brian Cid shares his thoughts on the EP:
“Our story continues with our special series and we welcome with great pleasure, a group of highly talented artists from around the world, many already familiar to you through our past releases. These are individuals who have travelled to worlds within, only to find a home in the Endangered sonic space. Throughout the year we have carefully curated this selection based on each artist’s unique expressions, allowing us to push our sound forward. Filled with dark grooves, hypnotic melodies and a driving beat, this release tells a continuous story designed to be perceived from beginning to end. I have personally put my technical touch to glue them together and brace it with the vibration we are known for. Worlds Within Thee is a self exploratory experience that taps into our subconscious inner worlds, with the only intention of exploring deeper layers of self. We hope you truly enjoy the third volume of our series.”
Making their debut on the label, American duo Bad Eye begin our journey with “Fated Vessel”. Liftoff is engaged with the pulsing synths and driving beat pushing us into orbit. Gravity is reduced as the track progresses, the filter opens up as the stars become clearer, and when the beat drops it signals that we’ve officially broken through the atmosphere. Endangered resident artist Mirida from Russia follows with “Optical Illusion”. A feeling of tension is created with the hypnotic percussion & deep groove, and the guitar breakdown builds to the unknown that is to come next. Hypnosis continues towards the end as layers of melody appear, and the serene state is now unbreakable as we realize there is no turning back.
First appearing on the second edition of Worlds Within Thee, Swiss artist Normen Hood returns to the label with “Follow The Cubes”. A dreamy synth melody exists throughout, making this track flow like an artist painting. Arpeggiated synths pan back and forth entwined with the progressive melody throughout, and it flows as the perfect connector of energy from the beginning to the second half of the EP. The energy rises once again with “Hassium”, a collaboration between Argentinian artists German Angeleri, and Larrosa & Gardoqui. We’re now past the mid-point in this trip, and full melodic techno power is reached with the driving beat and sharp synths here. Our heart-rate rises as there is a sense of being closer to our destination, and the constant rising pitch of the melody does nothing to slow it down. To conclude this chapter of Worlds Within Thee, Brian Cid contributes the sonic masterpiece “Into The Abyss”. Layers of sound come at you and then retreat to make way for the next wave, and deep melodies resonate throughout this intelligent & thought-provoking progressive masterclass. A euphoric feeling takes over once we realize our destination is within reach, and it continues as another chapter comes to a close.
